introducing: PEEWEE!

So I have welcomed a new little friend into my family. He is a cockatiel named Peewee! He's super cuddly and I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a dog. He sleeps with me in my bed and snuggles on the blankets. He can sing a few songs and says things in French and English. I absolutely love him. I really feel like he saved my life. I was finding myself in a very deep depression, so bad that I really couldn't think of any reason I wanted to be here anymore. I started to wish a car would hit me when I was walking home from work. I just couldn't find the reasons to keep going. Now I feel so excited to go home and spend time with my bird! It feels so good to have another creature to love, something that relies on me and loves me back. He's so affectionate and he actually misses me when I'm gone. Little Peewee couldn't have found a better time to come into my life. <3

halloween 2013

Some of you may not know that I have moved cities, and since I've switched shops I've had to start from the ground up again.
Needless to say my paychecks have been quite pathetic. So this year my usual big budget for Halloween costumes was nonexistent. So I had to improvise. 

The day of Halloween we went out with some friends and went to a haunted house that was organized by the local children's hospital. They were raising money for new treatments. I was very impressed with the level of detail they put into the event. The haunted house was actually super creepy and long. The "actors" were volunteers and most of them did an excellent job. I had an amazing time. Everyone likes there pants scared off now and then. 

So this particular night I just wore a sequined skeleton dress that I already had in my closet and some appropriate matching accessories. I got super shitty face paint from the dollar store that actually stained my face red (serves me right). I was happy with the overall out come however. If I wanted to do something more detail I might have been super aggravated and angry that I didn't buy some better quality paint that wasn't made from let over oil and dye in some Chinese factory somewhere. I just wanted the look to be almost pop-art. I also used contacts I already own from Pinky Paradise, one pink one and one grey one. The results:

The weekend after Halloween we had a party at our house and decorated it and invited some friends over. I didn't get alot of good pictures because things were super rushed and I just wanted to start drinking etc. I did sneak in some cute shots with my little minion however. I just used an old costume I had in my closet and did my make up all purrtttyyy. Contacts are from Pinky Paradise, make up is from Lime Crime, and the wig is from Lock Shop (I'll provide links below). Overall such a good night, but because of the time change I got super tired and fell asleep on the couch while people were still over. Oops.

JAZZ FUNERAL

The procession is lead by the Grand Marshal, resplendent in his black tuxedo, white gloves and black hat in hand; almost a vision of the great Baron Samedi himself. The music begins with solemn, tolling dirges, moves into hymns of sorrow, loss and redemption. When the burial site is reached, a two-note preparatory riff is sounded, and the drummers start the second-line beat, heralding the switch in music to joyous, upbeat songs, dancing, and the unfurling of richly decorated umbrellas by the “second line”: friends, family, loved ones and stray celebrants. Strutting, bouncing, and festive dance accompanies the upbeat ragtime music that sends the departed soul onto its next journey.

I bought some new wigs the other day. I just wanted to do a quick review about them because I am super happy about how awesome they are! I'll do a individual review for each. Usually I buy from gothiclolitawigs.com (which is a great site). But recently I've decided to shop at Lockshop. 

I am super impressed with the quality of each wig. They are so soft and so smooth. They don't tangle and they are built extremely well. Hands down they are the nicest wigs I've ever bought. I plan to only purchase my hair from Lockshop in the future :3
